School Updates  

Basketball Season 

With basketball season starting this week a friendly reminder of our spectator policy.  

• Only students from Mandela and the visiting team can attend 
• All students need to provide proof of enrollment by bringing there School Identification. We will not accept PowerSchool as proof 
• Immediate Family member from Mandela and the visiting school are allowed to attend. Family members under 18 must attend with a parent 

Students are also reminded to be respectful fans, it is fine to be loud and cheer for United, but it is not ok to call out players from the visiting team or heckle. Let’s ensure we are showcasing our school in a positive way. Failure to meet these expectations may result in being suspended from attending athletic events. 

Fall Awards 

Last Thursday we celebrated the academic successes from the 2023-2024 school year. It was a wonderful celebration. Of particular note, we had over 300 of our 600 graduating class receive the Rutherford Scholarship. The total money awarded to these students was over $550 000.
